Jessica Rene Rico Rangel is the heart and driving force behind Grampa’s Boxing Gym, a place built on legacy, passion, and resilience. Born and raised in Santa Ana, CA, she grew up in a hardworking family that instilled in her the values of perseverance, integrity, and grit. While her parents worked long hours, Jessica spent much of her childhood by her grandfather’s side—a man whose love for boxing shaped her future in ways she never could have imagined. From the living room floor, where they watched legendary fights, to the heavy bag that always hung in their garage, boxing was more than just a sport—it was a bond. By 13, Jessica was training at a local gym, and by 17, she was helping her grandfather bring his lifelong dream to life: opening his own boxing gym. In 2011, Grampa’s Boxing Gym was born, a tribute to his love for the sport and the mentorship he provided to so many.Tragically, in 2016, Jessica’s grandfather passed away. But instead of letting his dream fade, she stepped into his shoes, determined to carry on his legacy. With her mother, Maria, by her side, she transformed the gym into more than just a training space—it became a second home for fighters, a sanctuary for those seeking discipline and strength, and a testament to the values her grandfather had always championed.More than a decade later, Jessica continues to build a thriving community that embodies her grandfather’s spirit. She is known for her unwavering commitment to her boxers, blending tough love with unshakable support, pushing them to become not just better athletes but stronger individuals. She leads with heart, grit, and a relentless drive to uplift those around her.Outside the gym, Jessica is happily married to her childhood best friend, and together they are raising a beautiful daughter. When she’s not ringside, she’s embracing the freedom of the open road on her Harley Davidson, running trails, or soaking up the California sun at the beach with her French Bulldog. Every day, she is fueled by family, inspired by community, and reminded of the legacy she continues to build—one punch, one fight, and one dream at a time.
