Meet JOSH

Born and raised in Orange County, Coach Josh grew up in Garden Grove and was drawn to boxing by a desire to feel strong, empowered, and capable of defending himself. Though boxing had always caught his attention as a kid, he didn’t step into a gym until adulthood — and once he did, he never looked back. The progress, the challenge, and the sense of community quickly became part of his daily life. With 3 years of boxing experience and several exhibition bouts under his belt, Josh is preparing for his first amateur fight later this year. His journey into coaching began at Grampa’s Boxing Gym, where he spent several months shadowing Coach Angel before officially stepping into the role. Encouraged by a coach who saw his potential, Josh now aims to do the same for others — helping them step out of their comfort zones and into their power. His coaching style is productive, efficient, and goal-driven, with a focus on both physical strength and mental toughness. He specializes in cardio and strength training and enjoys working with young adults and adults — whether they’re brand new to boxing or competitive fighters looking to level up.Josh values respect, discipline, and humility in the gym. His goal is to help every client leave feeling challenged, accomplished, and empowered. Long-term, he hopes to build a strong team of like-minded athletes while pursuing his own undefeated amateur boxing record.Outside the gym, Josh is motivated by the support of his family and friends. A mix of adrenaline junkie and quiet thinker, he finds balance through reading and pushing his limits — both physically and mentally. For him, Grampa’s Boxing Gym is more than a training facility; it’s a family that continues to support and shape him every day.
